Our New Drop-Off Zone!

11th Feb 2022

We are very excited to announce the opening of our new Drop-Off Zone on Monday 21st February 2022! Please watch the attached video created by our very talented P7 children: Zara Cumming, Robin Andrews and Emma Wylie. Hopefully this video will help to explain how this new Drop-Off Zone will operate.

All pupils arriving from the Old Cullybackey Road should enter the school premises via the top pedestrian gate (or from within the Drop-Off Zone). Mrs Wylie and Mr Calwell will be present to welcome the children each morning (from 8.30am) within this area.

Pedestrian footpaths and pedestrian crossings must be used at ALL times within this area.

Mr Fisher and Mrs Stephan will continue to welcome children each morning at the Carnview Gate. For health and safety reasons, we would ask that children are supervised until there is an adult present (8.30am).

At the end of the school day, teachers/classroom assistants will escort each class to the new front pedestrian gate. We will continue to operate staggered collection times as follows:

  • P1: 1.50pm (1.40pm each Friday)
  • P1/2: 1.55pm (1.45pm each Friday)
  • P2: 1.55pm (1.40pm each Friday)
  • P3: 2.00pm (1.45pm each Friday)
  • P3 from P3/4 class: 2.00pm (1.50pm each Friday)
  • P4 (fromP3/4 class): 2.50pm (1.50pm each Friday)
  • P4/5: 2.50pm (1.50pm each Friday)
  • P5: 2.55pm (1.55pm each Friday)
  • P6: 2.55pm (1.55pm each Friday)
  • P6/7: 3.00pm (2.00pm each Friday)
  • P7: 3.00pm (2.00pm each Friday)

On a parent’s request, children may exit the school premises unaccompanied through the rear pedestrian gate (Carnview Park). It is expected that parents will collect their child at the school gate or have given permission for him/her to walk or cycle home.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank parents and carers for their patience throughout the development of this Traffic Managment Scheme.
