The Boys’ Football Team had a thoroughly successful and enjoyable afternoon at Ballymena Showgrounds where Coaching for Christ held their annual tournament.
The boys started with 2 wins and 2 draws in the group stage and moved into the 1/4 final against our arch rivals Ballykeel.
Fortunately we won this game 1-0. We were also victorious 1-0 in the semi final against a very useful Rasharkin team!
Portglenone were the opponents in the final and after a very tight match including extra time… we lost on penalties!
A truly heartbreaking end to such a successful tournament. From memory, Joshua (our GK) had one save to make throughout the whole tournament (from a free kick).
The boys were a genuine credit to themselves and were very unfortunate not to win the final in normal time!
Congratulations however to Portglenone and many thanks to Rodney and the Coaching for Christ team for an excellent tournament!
Well done boys… just gutted as you were deserving of finishing the season on a sweeter note!
