On Monday 16th December Gracehill came to Carniny Primary School to play a festive football tournament. The first match kicked off at 1.15 pm were the Rovers who played the United team and it ended as a 2-1 win for the Rovers.

At 1.45pm the ‘FC’ team played a Gracehill team and got a 1-0 win, they followed this with another good 1-0 victory in the second part.

The ‘athletic’ team had a very hard fought victory against their Gracehill counterparts.  Jude Crawford scored a perfect volley late in the game to snatch victory.  Carniny had shown great determination and hunger and were deserved winners.

Overall it was a really enjoyable day and everyone had a good time (apart from the Gracehill team who lost).

Carniny Rovers vs Carniny United

United took the lead via Lucy Cubitt scoring from just inside the box. Jack McKendry scored for Carniny Rovers to equalise and then scored another to put them ahead within the last 5mins. It was a great disappointment for the United team for they had taken the lead but Rovers hung on to see it through.

Carniny FC vs Gracehill 2

In the first half Carniny FC went ahead with McCauley Shields’ goal at about 8mins in and they were then able to see it through for the first half win. In the second half then Carter Adams hit a long shot and Sam Smyth then tapped in the rebound to put them two in front and win the game overall.

Carniny Athletic vs Gracehill 1

It was a shaky first half for the Athletic team but ended up with a 0-0 draw which put them into the second half needing to win. Oliver Shaw made a few brilliant saves with the Athletic team scoring a fairly late goal through a superb Jude Crawford volley.
