Where are we?

P2/3 visited Greenmount College to find out about local wildlife and to see cows and the milking parlour.

We saw moorhens and ducks, drakes and fluffy ducklings. We fed them with grains of wheat.

The boys and girls in P2 pretended to be ducks and had a go at making a nest out of twigs and leaves.

Next, we had to find a mother duck  to lay an egg!

We found out all about trees and we could smell the pine smell from some needles.

We looked at the bark on the trees. This tree looked very rough, but when we touched it, it felt soft!

We spent time looking around for signs of nature - a den for a fox, and some broken egg shells (did he eat the chicks?)

We visited the farm next and saw the cows eating silage, waiting to be milked.

It was a great trip and we saw and learned so much!
